Artists and Tech Gadgets: The Digital Photo Frame

Display Your Art

No matter the medium, you can use digital photo frames to display your art. Obviously, if you are a photographer they are great for displaying your photos. You can set up the frame in your house or your studio and show off your work. However, even if you are not a photographer, you can photograph your work and display it on your frame. This is a great option if you want to show someone your work, but you do not want to lug three dozen large canvases to your friend’s house or your teacher’s office.

They are also a great way to display your digital media Do you do graphic design on your computer or do you create digital artwork? If so, you can format these images to be displayed on your frame. Most frames will at least show JPEG images, and some frames can display multiple image formats. This leads to how they are also useful promotional tools.

Promote Yourself

Do you ever go to an art show or a bridal expo or anything where you set up a table (or a station) to show off your work or sell your work, and promote yourself? If so, you need to take your digital photo frame with you. You usually cannot take all of your work to an art sale or expo, but you can load your frame with photos of all of your work. First, the frame is bright and changes periodically, so it will attract people to your area. Second, someone might see a piece they like that you did not happen to bring. Now, you can arrange to meet them later to possibly sell the piece.

If you are looking for a good frame to use to promote yourself, you should look for a slightly larger frame, twelve to fifteen inches if you can afford it. This is because these frames are even more eye-catching, and they let people see the details of your work. Digital photo frames are relatively easy to use, and you can easily set one up in a few minutes. They are also relatively inexpensive, and you can find a wide variety of frames for less than $100. These two features make these frames great promotional tools, especially for the starving artist.
